Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) has announced that it will refrain from any confrontation or disturbance on February 8, the first anniversary of the general elections of last year, and instead has presented plans for a great concentration on Swabi.

PTI had previously sought permission to celebrate a demonstration in mine-e-pakistan in Lahore, but the attached commissioner rejected the request, citing concerns about the maintenance of law and order.

Lahore DC Syed Musa Raza explained that the decision was made to avoid interruptions, since significant events in LaHore were scheduled, including a Cricket party, an international speaker conference and a horse and cattle show, all required a wide security staff .

Instead, PTI announced plans for a great demonstration in Swabi, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, urging supporters throughout the country to attend.

PTI’s secretary general, Salman Akram Raja, declared in Islamabad that the party would only celebrate a demonstration in Swabi, while the protests would be carried out at the level of Tehsil and the Council of the Union, clarifying that there were no plans for chaos .

The opposition leader in the National Assembly, Omar Ayub, also addressed supporters in a video message, declaring on February 8 as “Black Day”, marking the day when his votes were supposedly stolen.

He asked the followers of PTI and party workers who meet on Swabi at 2 pm on Saturday to show solidarity with the founder of PTI Imran Khan.

Meanwhile, before the event in KP, government officials, including police personnel, have received instructions to refrain from participating in political meetings or demonstrations, and is told to the provincial police not to facilitate or attend such events .
