Federal Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, has issued a severe warning that indicates that the Government will not allow Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) “to interrupt the nation again” repeating incidents such as May 9 or 26 November.
Asif criticized PTI for its “constant protest and chaos policy, particularly when Pakistan’s honor is at stake,” said Express News.
At a press conference held at Sialkot, Asif highlighted the next international event, the Champions Trophy, and condemned PTI for trying to create agitation during significant moments for the country.
He pointed out that PTI’s disruptive tactics not only “tarnish the global image of Pakistan but also undermines national interests.”
“As the country prepares for important events, such as the Champions Trophy, PTI has once again resorted to the protest policy. The actions of the party continue to damage the country’s position on the international stage, ”said Asif.
In addition, he accused PTI to try to create disturbances during crucial moments, referring to the actions of the opposition party during the Conference of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
Asif also condemned the use of PTI of government machinery and resources for political manifestations, particularly in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
He said that while manifestations are part of political discourse, PTI’s constant efforts to interrupt the peace and stability of the nation, including Islamabad orientation, must stop.
On the issue of current protests, Asif questioned PTI’s claims, saying that if most of his demands had been met, there was no justification for protests. He reiterated the need for a peaceful and stable environment for the benefit of Pakistan’s interests.
