LAHORE:
Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) Chairman Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi has said that any attempt to raise voice against the Pakistan Army will meet with strong resistance.
He expressed these views during a press conference in Lahore on Sunday.
Ashrafi said that if ever the need arises in the field of jihad, the ulama, madrassas, mehrabs and mimbers (pulpits) are fully prepared to defend the homeland as well as its security and stability.
He welcomed the statement issued by the Ulema of Afghanistan and said that it is now the responsibility of the Afghan government to implement it in letter and spirit.
