ISLAMABAD:

The apex court has imposed significant sanctions on four officials in its bureaucracy following disciplinary proceedings carried out under the Supreme Court Establishment Service Rules, 2015.

According to an official statement issued on Saturday, three of the officers belong to the Registration Branch of the Supreme Court in Karachi.

The officers were disciplined for serious administrative errors, including delays in filing reports, failure to seek written instructions in a timely manner, and delays in reconstructing court records from available digital copies, issues that caused institutional concern.

In a separate case reported through the anti-corruption hotline, the SC took disciplinary action against an official of the Registration Branch of the Supreme Court in Lahore over transparency issues.

“Institutional discipline, integrity and strict compliance with procedural rules remain non-negotiable, particularly in matters related to official conduct and the administration of justice,” he said.

Meanwhile, the high court also promoted a total of 218 civil servants and multi-category officials to the following pay scale in recognition of their dedication and professional commitment.

Beneficiaries include lower and higher division secretaries, assistants, paper book editors, data entry operators, telephone operators, judicial associates and assistant registrars.

He also promoted 57 staff members “strictly in accordance with the prescribed rules, procedures and merit” on the recommendation of the Departmental Promotion Committee.
