Punjab Gears Up for Safe and Clean Eid

LAHORE:

The Punjab government has launched an extensive safety and sanitation operation throughout the province to guarantee public safety and maintain hygiene during the three -day religious festival.

A centralized coordination system that involves the department of origin, the police, local governments and waste management companies has been activated.

The authorities say that the integrated effort aims to offer a safe and clean environment for citizens who celebrate EID.

A central control room has been established during the clock in Lahore under the supervision of the Secretary of the Interior of Punjab.

The General Directorate of Public Relations (DGPR), the Control Chamber will supervise all districts throughout the day and coordinate the efforts of application of the law and government directives.

The application of section 144 has been established in several areas of the province.

Orders prohibit the public killing of animals, swimming or navigation in rivers, channels or dams, and the elimination of animal waste in wells or river paths. Additional prohibitions include the use of fireworks, drones, laser lights, pigeon flyers and installation of temporary mechanical walks within a 15 -kilometer radius of any airport or air base.

The Department of Origin also announced an offensive against the unauthorized collection of animal skins.

“No proscribed organization can collect skins,” said a spokesman.

Only registered and certified beneficial organizations will be allowed with the Punjab Charity Commission.

The Lahore police have finished a security plan prepared for EID, deploying more than 9,000 people throughout the city.

The operation will be supervised by 6 Police Superintendents (SPS), 22 Subdivisional Police officers (SDPO) and 83 station station officers (SHO).

The Dolphin and PRU forces will be on a maximum alert, with more than 1,600 officers in the field, backed by 700 traffic officers to administer EID traffic.

The authority of the Punjab cities will monitor the EID congregations, the mosques and imambargahs through surveillance systems.

“All religious meetings will be closely, and any violation of the Government directives will result in strict action,” said police officer of the capital of the capital of Lahore (CCPO) Bilal Siddique Kamyana.

The Punjab Local Government Minister, Zeeshan Rafiq, described the sanitation plan as a “challenge”, particularly because more than 360,000 tons of animal waste are expected throughout the province during the EID. Speaking at a high -level meeting in the civil secretariat, the minister said that the objectives established by Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz were “ambitious but attainable.”

To address the enormous cleaning task, 11.69 million biodegradable bags will be distributed. More than 124,000 sanitation workers, with the support of 15,204 temporary recruits, will work under the Sethra Punjab program. The operation will use 125,794 machines and vehicles, in addition to the 29,638 existing sanitation units.

The officials have designated 3,870 primary collection points and 4,262 camps at the level of the Union Council, along with 1,661 collective killing sites to discourage public massacre.

To monitor clean cleaning, all waste and municipal management offices have established local control rooms, while the Central Control Chamber in LaHore will supervise the operation of the entire province.

“There will be zero negligence tolerance,” Minister Rafiq said. “Photographic evidence of all cleaning activities and public awareness campaigns must include the participation of chosen local representatives.”

After EID, the authorities will spray water from roses and phenyl on the roads for sanitation. In addition, 2.83 million kilograms of lime will be used to disinfect the affected areas.

Sales of the Night Road of Sacrifice Animals have been strictly banned, and has addressed officials to carry out regular inspections to guarantee compliance.

“So far no diseases or dengue reports have been received related to livestock,” said Minister Rafiq, confirming that the officers of the administration of livestock, municipal and district are working in close coordination.

As the province prepares for EID holidays, the Punjab government has reiterated its commitment to guarantee a safe, hygienic and peaceful environment for all citizens.
