Punjab reports 27 deaths in rain -related incidents

At least 27 people have lost their lives, and another 46 have been injured in rain -related incidents in the last 24 hours, Radio Pakistan reported Wednesday.

According to emergency officials, at least 12 people died and six other wounds in three ceiling collapse incidents in LaHore during the night, while other deaths occurred in different rain -related accidents.

The 1122 rescue teams responded to the calls of Muridwal Village, Mission Colony at Raiwind Road and Kot Jamal at dawn on Wednesday. The collapses took place during a period of rain sustained throughout the city.

The figures highlight the growing risks raised by heavy rains, which have also caused floods and generalized interruptions in several districts.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Disaster Authority (PDMA) PUNJAB has issued an alert for the heavy rains that are expected to continue in several parts of the province until tomorrow.

In response to the imminent climate, the Provincial Control Chamber and the District Emergency Operating Centers have been activated completely, and the personnel monitor the situation throughout the day.

Rescue agencies, including the 1122 rescue and the water and sanitation agency (WASA), have been put on maximum alert, with machinery and personnel placed waiting quickly.

Citizens have been advised to remain away from electrical posts, hanging cables and any weak or ruins to minimize the risk of accidents. The PDMA has also urged the public to remain cautious and take the necessary precautions during adverse climatic conditions.

In case of emergency, the public can communicate with the PDMA help line in 1129 to get help. Rescue operations continue as authorities work to mitigate damage and provide assistance to those affected by severe climate.
