The online “from home” licensing portal has also been widely used, with 1.14 million citizens benefiting from it.

DIG Traffic Punjab Muhammad Waqas Nazir warned, “Driving without a license is a crime,” adding that unlicensed drivers face heavy fines and strict legal action. He further stated that trained drivers have contributed to a significant reduction in road accidents in Punjab.

“The traffic police are raising public awareness about the importance of driving licenses,” said DIG Traffic Nazir, urging citizens to understand their value. Citizens are encouraged to use service centers, licensing centers and online portal to obtain or renew licenses. He also advised citizens to “immediately download their electronic driving license to their mobile device after issuance,” noting that the electronic driving license has the same legal validity as the physical card.
