The Punjab government approved a new ration card scheme aimed at providing financial support to 1.5 million workers and daily wages throughout the province, authorities said Thursday.
The decision was ended at a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz in Lahore, where it was agreed that eligible workers would receive a monthly stipend of RS 10,000 under the new initiative.
The program is designed to relieve economic pressure in low -income homes and is part of a broader set of reforms approved by the cabinet.
In a parallel development, the Cabinet modified the food grain licenses control order, 1957, which makes it mandatory that flour factories obtained at least 25% of their wheat supply through regulated sources.
In addition, changes in the Punjab consumer protection law, 2005 were approved. These amendments subsidies to the session judges to serve as consumer court authorities, improving legal supervision for consumer rights.
The ration scheme continues closely since the launch of the Smart Force for the Protection of the Environment of the Province, a pioneer environmental initiative directed by the main minister. The high -tech force includes mobile laboratories, drone surveillance and air quality monitoring tools, aimed at curbing pollution and guaranteeing regulatory compliance.
The two schemes highlight the multisectoral approach to the Punjab government for reform and well -being, focusing both on economic inclusion and environmental sustainability.
