- A reliable filter revealed a diagram that indicates that Point Medusa APUs can be fed by RDNA 4 architecture
- This would mean that FSR 4 can be used on future PC for hand games and light laptops using processors
- There is also a possibility that FSR 4 can be retreated to RDNA 3
AMD RDNA 4 architecture, used in its last line of desktop GPU (the RADEON RX 9070 series), is currently the only way players can enjoy the new FSR scale method. Unfortunately, AMD has left RDNA 3 GPU users behind now; However, it is a different story for the next line of mobile processors from Team Red.
According to a filter diagram by MLID (Moore’s law is dead), a good reputation filter on YouTube, the APA Medusa Point of AMD will be promoted by the RDNA architecture 4. The diagram shows a processor under one of the APU of Medusa Point that admits ‘Zen5lp’, which are Zen 5 nuclei of low power, and also includes ‘Navi4’, which is in fact 4.
What this means is that any laptops or handpame pc driven by Medusa Point Apu will have FSR 4 support in the games, if the filtered image contains some truth. MLID also speculates that the displayed diagram is not from the superior configuration chip, but one of the average range options in the Medusa Point family.
This is a surprise since recent rumors have pointed out towards the new APUs with RDNA 3.5; AMD has made it clear that it is working to take FSR 4 to RDNA 3, so even if this is not true, there is still a possibility that FSR 4 reaches hand computers and portable computers eventually. This would not only benefit Medusa Point (if it shows to use RDNA 3.5), but also help current systems with AMD.

FSR 4 is the closest that we can reach the NVIDIA DLSS on portable games PC
I have thought about this on several occasions and I have even asked Nvidia about it before: if DLSS 4 were available on any PC for portable games, it would be a literal game change. With the new transformer model, the performance mode is better than the quality mode in the previous CNN model for DLSS 3.
Why am I mentioning this? It is due to the fact that AMD FSR 4 is the closest scale method behind DLSS 4, now, it is not better than Team Green technology, and it could be said that it is still a stretch of matching it, but its mode of performance has seen similar improvements.
Instead of ghost and a significant loss of image quality, you can still enjoy the benefits of excellent images and performance. It is important to keep in mind that there is a slight loss of performance in games with FSR 4 about its predecessor, but it is not significant enough to have an impact on softness.
As far as I know, there are no plans for a NVIDIA APU for hand games (although I really hope that Team Green is being reserved). However, if FSR 4 can be supported for RDNA 3 or Medusa Point Apu are driven by RDNA 4, it will be magical for games in all areas in hand, and that is exactly what the Red team needs to go to the alignment of Intel Panther Lake.
