Another close shave. After a couple of unfortunate conjectures and a savage (Pushy was an extremely unlikely clearance), I only managed to complete today’s puzzle.
The word in progress automatically connects to “The game is underway”, a language pronounced by Sherlock Holmes to Watson when their detection senses are punctured by a box. The phrase was not coined by author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, but by Henry V of Shakespeare and his passionate plea for the English to take the weapons.
Whatever its origin, for me, today’s classic game was not underway, but the sequence was definitely and somehow took with the rabbits of the hats to conjure the four words. A very dizzy experience.
