Boston’s red socks seemed to change their season by sweeping the New York Yankees during the weekend, and then changed their franchise player.
Shortly after the Sox completed the beating of three bombers, sent Rafael Devers, who jonronó on Sunday for the green monster, to the San Francisco giants.
The writing had been on the wall for some time after the Sox signed the third base Alex Bregman, and finally, Devers refused to play the first base. Devers has only been a batter designated throughout the season.

“In the end, I think it is quite clear that we could not find alignment with Raffy,” said the president and CEO of the Red Sox, Sam Kennedy on Monday, journalists on Monday, through MLB.com. “We all work on that in recent months, returning to the low season, starting with [manager] Alex Cora and [chief baseball officer] Craig [Brewslow] And the staff, and then to me, and all the way to [owner] John Henry.
“We worked on that. We had a different vision for him in the future than him, and we could not get there. We could not find the alignment, and we reached that turning point and made the decision to make a great movement.”
Despite losing, with much, his best bat, Breslow, a pitcher for 13 MLB seasons, said the movement is “in no way a white flag wave in 2025”.
In fact, Breslow actually believes that trade will result in a better product in the immediate future. “I think there is a real possibility that at the end of the season,” Breslow said, “we are looking back and we have won more games than we would otherwise have.”
From what is worth, the Sox beat the Seattle Mariners, 2-0, on Monday night in their first game of the era after the deversions.

For former Sox-Rred star calls Rafael Devers’s exchange of the ‘Crazy’ team
Devers was the last man of the 2018 Sox World Series champion still in Boston, but now, all the remaining $ 250 million in his agreement are now the responsibility of San Francisco. Breslow insisted that the agreement was not an attempt to reduce the payroll, such as the agreements for Mookie Betts, who won two world series in Los Angeles, or Chris Sale, who won the NL Cy Young award in its first season with the Braves.
However, with a lot of effective available now, and a team that is right in the postseason race, Breslow said the main office will continue looking for ways to improve the equipment, with a batter of the intermediate line a new need.
“For some reason, this team (s) an example in which the whole was not greater than the sum of the parties,” he said. “And being great teammates and sacrificing and taking a step forward and embodying this shared vision, we believe that these are principles to which we must be faithful.

“And so, at the end of the season, I think we could look back and say that we have won more games than would otherwise have done it, due to the way this list can now join.”
