A quick look at the Boston Red Sox list of your 2018 World Series winning team can cause the average baseball fanatic to be quantical compared to the 2025 team.
Rafael Devers was his third base, Mookie Betts played in the right garden and Xander Bogaerts was the campocorto, not to mention players like Andrew Benintendi, Jackie Bradley Jr. and JD Martinez also reinforced the alignment when the team defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers in five games.

On Sunday, one of the last central pieces of the alignment was treated.
The Red Sox changed Devers to the San Francisco giants for Jordan Hicks, Jose Bello, James Tibbs III and Kyle Harrison, an agreement that surprised the world of baseball. Despite their philosophical differences with the red socks, Devers was hitting .272 with an OPS of .905 and 15 home runs. He was leading the American League in walks with 56 and had played most of the games in the largest (73).
Betts, who changed the red socks to the Dodgers, offered his thoughts after the team’s victory over the Giants on Sunday.
“I thought it was crazy,” he told Athletics. “Not really to say, it’s crazy.”

The Dodgers launcher, Clayton Kershaw, also reacted to the exchange, since they told him during a ESPN segment on the wild movement.
“How is that trade? That is wild,” he said. “Buster really is doing it! No Olney; Buster possess is really doing it there. Well for Buster, man. He will do it. He would consider (devers) one of the 10 best batters in the game in the worst case. It is definitely a change of game.”
Almost seven years later, the red socks are operating with a completely different list from what they had when they lifted the commissioner trophy.

Boston will enter the week just out of a sweep of the New York Yankees and only 6.5 games behind them for the first place in the east.
