Rail digitalization to conclude at the end of the year

Federal Railroad Minister Hanif Abbasi has announced that important projects, including the digitalization of Pakistan Railways, his update and subcontracting, are scheduled for completion within this year.

He added that Faisalabad train station will be updated to modern international standards in the next 45 days.

Speaking to the media during his visit to the Faisalabad train station on Saturday, Abbasi said that, under the vision of the prime minister, short and long -term projects were underway throughout the country to modernize rail operations, promote regional connectivity and provide world -class facilities for passengers.

He said that under the digitalization unit, the input system has been completely automated, the train tracking system was operational and automatic ATMs were installed in the main stations.

Abbasi said that in collaboration with Punjab Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz, Wi-Fi services were introduced into 40 railway stations throughout the province. The initiative has begun from Lahore and will soon be extended to Faisalabad, Karachi, Hyderabad and other cities.

He revealed that the outsourcing process will be completed before September 30, covering nine to eleven passenger trains, load trains, rest houses, special rooms, hospitals, schools and other facilities aimed at improving the quality of the service and increasing public relations income.
