‘If a visa is canceled in the UK, a ten-year ban is normally imposed, but I am not seeking such a ban.’
Pakistani YouTuber Raja Butt has denied reports that he was deported from the UK, insisting he returned home by his own choice and not under deportation orders. “A person does not return in business class after being deported,” he said Wednesday, rejecting speculation circulating online.
Butt explained that while he was not deported, his UK visa had been cancelled. “My visa has been canceled and an application has been submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs stating that there are pending cases against me,” he said.
He added that he had a 10-year visa, which his lawyer has now challenged through a review.
He further stated: “My name is not on the Exit Control List. I will remain in Pakistan while the case is ongoing. If a visa in the UK is cancelled, a ten-year ban is normally imposed, but I am not seeking such a ban. I may have to travel for visits but I will continue to reside in Pakistan.”
Butt was allegedly deported from England on an early morning flight after British authorities canceled his visa, according to reports that emerged late Tuesday. The British government revoked his visa after the Department of Home Affairs issued a written decision informing him of the cancellation.
According to the Home Department, Butt did not disclose the cases registered against him in Pakistan at the time of his visa application. Once the authorities learned of this, they arrested him, canceled his visa and ordered his deportation. He has said he intends to challenge the Home Office’s decision and will file an appeal in London.
