Fulgar, a long-established synthetic yarn producer that supplies many major fashion houses, has confirmed that it suffered a ransomware attack linked to the RansomHouse group.
The attackers listed Fulgar on their leak site on November 12, claiming they had been maintaining encrypted data since October 31.
Screenshots shared on the leak site appeared to show internal files, including documents, spreadsheets, communications and financial information, as well as records that appear to be related to bank balances, invoices and exchanges with external bodies.
A global textile operation now faces leaked samples
Fulgar has been a prominent player in the fibers market since the late 1970s, producing polyamide 66 and coated elastomers used in hosiery, lingerie, sportswear and technical textiles.
The company operates the largest spinning mill in Europe and distributes Lycra and Elaspan in several regions, with operations extending to Italy, Sri Lanka and Turkey, and its customer list includes H&M, Adidas, Wolford and Calzedonia.
The publication included a warning addressed to the company’s management; “Dear management of Fulgar SpA, we are sure that you are not interested in your confidential data being leaked or sold to third parties. We strongly recommend that you start to resolve this situation.”
This stolen information can provide the basis for more precise phishing attempts based on insider information.
RansomHouse has been active since 2021 and has listed over a hundred victims on its leak site.
US cyber authorities have previously linked the group to affiliates cooperating with Iranian actors, noting that the deals involve encryption support for a portion of ransom payments.
The Fulgar breach shows again that even large vendors can be exposed when a single ransomware group gains access to internal systems.
Protecting against identity theft becomes important once sensitive records start to come to light, as exposed details can be reused in targeted attacks against staff or partners.
