Islamabad:
The Government announced on Friday to cut the price of gasoline per RE1 with effect as of today (Saturday). However, the price of high speed diesel (HSD) remained unchanged.
In Pakistan, fuel prices are checked and changed every fifteen days, respectively in the first and fifteenth of each month.
However, this time, the Finance Division issued a notification for a change in fuel prices three days before the end of the month.
The price of gasoline was RS255.63 per liter that has now been reduced to RS254.63 per liter. The price per liter HSD will remain at RS258.64.
On March 15, the Government raised the oil tax at RS10 per liter, an increase of 17%, at RS70 per liter, maintaining the prices of gasoline and diesel without changes, while using the additional fiscal space available to reduce electricity prices by approximately RS1.50 per unit. Despite the increase, the price of ex-depot gasoline remained at RS255.63 per liter, while the HSD remained at RS258.64 per liter.
