The main secretary of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Nadem Aslam Chaudhary, has emphasized the need to deliver all illegal weapons to guarantee permanent peace, safe trips and the application of the law in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Kurram District.

Going to Kurram Grand Jirga participants in Commissioner House, Kohat, Tuesday night, the main secretary stressed the critical role of community cooperation in conflict resolution.

The meeting attended IGP Akhtar Hayat Khan, Goc Kohat Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti, the Division of Commissioner Kohat Syed Mutasim Billah Shah, Rpo Kohat Abbas Majeed Marwat, attached commissioner Kohat Abdul Akram and prominent parlimentarians of the Kurram district.

The main secretary declared that although the ongoing conflict in Kurram seems to involve two groups, extremist elements try to exploit the situation to hate. He called both parties to identify and isolate such elements to avoid being successful in their malicious designs.

Highlighting the government’s commitment, he reiterated that the Kohat agreement will be implemented at all costs, with full cooperation of all interested parties.

“Understanding and tolerance are essential to protect our areas and people. This situation should not be taken lightly,” he added.

The Chief Secretary also said that the rule of law will be maintained without exception. “Strict legal measures will be taken against anyone who violates government orders or laws. The FIRs are not mere formalities; they will be executed and the guilty will face severe punishments,” he warned.

Emphasizing unity and collective responsibility, he asked Kurram’s young people to actively participate in the construction efforts of peace and urged both parties to work closely with the government to maintain the law and order in the region.

Previously, the main secretary together with the IG Police visited the district of Hagu, where he reviewed the facilities in a temporary help camp established for evacuated families of certain villages in Kurram.
