Islamabad:
Federal and provincial governments have agreed to launch a national repression at the national level against counterfeit and poor medicine, as of May 19.
During the repression, broad inspections and compliance actions will be carried out with full coordination between the Federation, the provinces, the customs, the FIA and other relevant agencies.
Pharmaceutical factories and distribution networks will also be subject to strict monitoring, while market surveillance and surprise raids will be carried out based on confidential complaints.
This was decided at a high -level meeting of provincial health ministers held under the presidency of Federal Minister of Health Mustafa Kamal.
According to the spokesman of the Ministry of Health, the meeting reviewed continuous efforts to eliminate false and low quality medicines and made a series of important decisions. Federal and provincial governments jointly reaffirmed their commitment to public welfare and collective action.
“This is not just a working group, it is a national responsibility,” Kamal said.
