- Nakanishi says Resident Evil 7 It may have been “too scary” for some players, so a third -person option was added to Requiem in part for this reason
- He also expects the option to offer a more pleasant experience for those who “could not end or even started” Resident Evil 7
Resident requiem has a third person mode for players who could not handle in the first person in Resident Evil 7According to the game director Koshi Nakanishi.
In an interview with Gamesradar at Gamescom 2025, Nakanishi acknowledged that his previously directed game, Resident Evil 7It could have been too scary and determined to offer two options in the next post to allow a more pleasant experience.
“Looking back Resident Evil 7The first person in the first person, I implemented that, as a way to make it more immersive and more scary than ever, which I think most of the media and players agreed that it was an incredibly scary game, but it was possibly too scary, “Nakanishi said.
“I think some people could not handle it, I couldn’t finish or even started. And that is something that I look back thinking that, you know, I want to make sure that people can enjoy this game.”
Resident evil people introduced a third person mode through downloadable content (DLC) after launch, and like that game, Requiem It will also allow the option to change between the first and third person while playing, what Nakanishi expects the jumps and horror to be more manageable.
“Then, if you started the game in the first person perspective, and you are discovering that it is too much, then the third person is almost a way of retreating slightly that level of horror and making it a little easier to handle having the character on the screen as a kind of avatar of yourself,” he explained.
Resident requiem It will be launched on February 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC.
