Rhea Seehorn and Sarah Snook shake up the 2026 Emmy race after the Critics Choice Awards

Rhea Seaborn and Sarah Snook caused a stir at the Critics’ Choice Awards with their unexpected victory.

Seaborn won her first award for Best Actress in a Drama Series. He received the award for his role in Pluribus, which was taken by surprise, as he triumphed over the expected winners of the night.

She won against stars such as Kathy Bates (Matlock), Britt Lower (Severance), Carrie Coon (The Gilded Age), Bella Ramsey (The Last of Us) and Keri Russell (The Diplomat).

The show follows the story of a novelist, Carol Sturka (Seehorn), who is unaffected by an alien virus that turns humanity into a peaceful hive mind. The hive seeks to assimilate the few immune individuals like it.

On the other hand, Snook also took home the award for Best Actress in a Miniseries or TV Movie for her mystery thriller. All your fault.

She played Marissa Irvine, a mother whose son disappeared during a play date, leading to an intense investigation filled with suspicion and blame.

Snook won against Jessica Biel (The best sister), Meghann Fahy (mermaids), Michelle Williams (Dying for sex), Robin Wright (the bride) and Renée Zellweger (Bridget Jones: Crazy about the boy).

This is the third time he has received the award. Previously, he won two Succession.

The reason behind how her win will shake up the 2026 Emmys is that most of the time, the Critics’ Choice Awards predict the Emmy winners, especially in the early seasons.

Therefore, after her win, Seehorn is now seen as the favorite for Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series and Snook in the Limited Series/TV Movie Actress category.
