Twelve in the twelve swimmers of the NCAA All-American Riley Gaines and her husband Louis Barker expect their first child together.
Gaines confirmed the news of Pak Gazette Digital on Saturday, adding that the couple will welcome a girl in September.

“Surprise! We have 26 weeks pregnant,” he said in an Instagram publication. “God is so good all the time.”

Gaines has been a firm defender of female athletes during the debate on transgender athletes who participate in sports of girls and women. “You are really sick, this whole campaign because you lost a race. Directly loser,” Biles said, referring to Gaines competing against former Upenn swimmer, Lia Thomas, in the NCAA 2022 championship.
“You should be raising the trans community and perhaps finding a way to make sports include or create a new way where Trans feel safe in sports.
The publication went viral on social networks, with biles adding another publication: “Bully to someone in their own size, which would ironically be a man.”

Later, Biles issued an apology and said that “he did not advocate the policies that compromise equity in women’s sports.” Gaines responded by accepting apologies and inviting the Olympic to join the effort “to support fair sports and a future for female athletes.”
