- Roborock Saros 20 Sonic has a wide, flat pad that vibrates and applies downward pressure.
- Exceptionally, he can kick to the side for full coverage.
- Pressure and water can be adjusted independently.
The Saros 20 Sonic is one of the new Roborock robot vacuums I got to try out at CES 2026. It’s an upgraded version of the popular Saros 10, and while it may not have the immediate wow factor of the Rover, which has real legs (!), it still made me think twice when I saw it in action.
We are covering all the latest news. CES news of the program as it happens. Stay with us for the big stories on everything from 8K From televisions to smart home devices.

The reason is the scrubbing system. Instead of two rotating discs or a roller, it features a flat, D-shaped pad that extends almost completely from edge to edge, providing an impressively wide mopping area.
More than that, it can kick to the side when it detects the edge of a room, reaching all the way to the edge. As far as I know, this is the only robovac with this style of mop pad that can do this trick: the D-shaped pads are always fixed in place.
Unlike other robotic vacuum mopping methods, there are no gaps or edges that the mop pad can’t reach. It promises efficient and precise cleaning.
The pad has its own independent motor that generates 4,000 sonic vibrations per minute while cleaning and applying up to 14N of downward pressure (1.75 times that of previous Roborock robots) to break down and remove dried dirt. An automatic dispenser ensures that the cleaning fluid is diluted evenly.
You also have a lot of control over mopping. You can adjust the water flow and vibration intensity independently, which is good news for, for example, those with water-sensitive hard floors that need cleaning.
Rock around the pier
An upgraded ‘RockDock’ will also take care of virtually all maintenance for you. You’ll clean the pad with hot water at 212°F / 100°C to remove grease and bacteria, then use hot air at 131°F / 55°C to dry the mop. In fact, it will also dry the dock base and internal dust bag, to eliminate any risk of mold or odors.
Cleverly, the base can also clean the platform on its own when left on the base when the rest of the robot is running on vacuum only. This helps save time.
The Saros 20 Sonic launches alongside a sister model, the Saros 20 (an upgraded Roborock Saros 10R). The Saros 20 is similar, but has a different navigation system than the Sonic and uses the popular double spin mop style instead of this D-shaped option. Both have a very innovative approach to cleaning thick carpets.
rolling
If you prefer a roller mop, there is now one in the line as well. It is fitted to the Qrevo Curv 2 Flow and is again extra wide for complete mopping coverage. Like most similar robovacs on the market, the roller is continuously fed with clean water as it rolls, while dirty water is removed with a scraper.
In theory, this makes it a more hygienic type of automatic mop, because dirt is removed during the floor cleaning process and not just when the robot returns to its base.
Where this model stands out is in the thoroughness of the self-cleaning cycle. The cleaning tray completely soaks the roller and rubs it clockwise and counterclockwise to get it as clean as possible.
The base uses hot water to clean the mop pads (167°F / 75°C is not quite (as hot as the Saros 20 Sonic’s system, although it should still do just fine cutting through fat). Dries with hot air.
The Saros 20, Saros 20 Sonic and Qrevo Curv Flow 2 will begin their international launch this year, with pricing to be confirmed. Expect the Qrevo Curv Flow 2 to be a little cheaper than Saros’ flagship robots.
