- The company’s first robot vacuum is apparently called DJI Romo
- Both romo and their coupling station are shown in a leaked image
- Rumors claim that it will sweep and direct the advanced obstacle avoidance
DJI is better known for its drones, gimbals and action cameras, but the Chinese company has been expanding to other areas in recent times. Last year, for example, he made a surprise movement to electronic bicycles, and now he seems to be ready to launch his first robot vacuum cleaner.
First we saw a rumored DJI cleaner at the end of May, with a photo filtered by @ositalv showing a palette of boxes with an image of a vacuum and coupling station and the name “DJI Romo”.
And now, a new image seems to show the device in the meat. Or the plastic, at least. Igor Bogdanov series filtration has published a photo of Granulated Spy of what seems to be the DJI Romo within its coupling station.
And although it offers little in terms of information in addition to the photo, we can obtain one or two intriguing pieces of information on the image design.

A style design nothing?
Perhaps the most obvious and striking style touch is the fact that both the void and the coupling station seem to have a transparent external housing, revealing much of the internal functioning and the cameras. And we believe that the white and gray coloration of the non -transparent parts, along with some elements of orange accent, is also very elegant and striking, although, of course, that is a subjective issue.
Unfortunately, we are not learning much about the potential capabilities, specifications or characteristics of the DJI Romo of this filtered photo, but the previous speculation has suggested that it will have MOP and vacuum functions, automatic self -employment and powerful avoidance of obstacles.
DJI drones are known for their excellent obstacle reduction talents, and the most recent versions use Lidar vision and technology to detect and navigate around potential hazards even in low light conditions. The romo could well use similar technology to avoid furniture, pets and other obstacles, since it cleanses your home.
If the romo is real, and we strongly suspect that it is, it could represent the new more exciting addition to the robot vacuum market at some point. DJI may feel that this market, which is not yet dominated by a single manufacturer, could be ready for interruption.
We will bring more updates on the romo as we get them, but be sure to see our Best Robot Vacuas Guide to see what could be found competing.
