Ronnie Coleman, a legend of bodybuilding that shares the record of all time with eight titles of Mr. Olympia, was hospitalized over the weekend due to a “serious medical condition,” said his family.
Coleman’s family issued a statement on the Facebook page of Louisiana Native.

“We want to inform fans, followers and the Ronnie Culturismo community that Ronnie Coleman was admitted to the hospital last Sunday morning due to a serious medical condition,” reads the statement on Monday. “He is currently receiving expert medical attention and continues to show incredible strength and resistance.
“At this time, we are not sharing additional details, since the approach remains in the recovery and well -being of Ronnie. We kindly ask for your understanding and support to keep the environment respectful and free of speculation.”
Coleman first announced that he was dealing with a health problem on Sunday, saying that he was dealing with a “medical emergency” and that he would prevent him from an event in the United Kingdom, according to the New York Post.

He told fans not to worry and said he was “in big hands.”
Coleman’s family expressed optimism.
“Ronnie has always inspired the world with its hardness and heart, and we know that he feels that the love and energy that they are sent in his own way.”

Coleman, 61, played university football in Grambling State under the legendary Eddie Robinson in the late 1980s. He began to follow a career in bodybuilding in 1990.
He won 26 international fitness and bodybuilding titles. His eight victories of Mr. Olympia arrived consecutively, and was included in the Hall of Fame of International Sports in 2016.
