Farmingdale, NY – A year before making his debut in the Ryder Cup, Rory Mcilroy called the “an exhibition” tournament for which he would not be “running through the fist.”
Well, he has done much more than a fist. In 2016, each Putt was as if he had noted a touchdown, and five years later, tears flowed in the middle of a brutal loss in the whistle of whistles.
Mcilroy reiterated to journalists on Thursday that he will always be “proud of my individual achievements in the game”, but in that famous emotional supplication in 2021, he said that he had never been excited by personal achievements (that is, even this year’s teachers).

It has been a quite 180 degree turn for Mcilroy, and checked when he admitted that he was “wrong.”
And it didn’t take long to realize.
“I think there are more things behind the scene. The team’s room, the team speaks. I think for me, entering as a complete rookie, look, VI Ryder Cups growing. I cried when the United States won in Brookline. As if it weren’t as if I didn’t feel something when I saw Ryder Cups,” Mcilroy said.
“I got into that team room in Celtic Manor and I only saw how much it meant for everyone. I started, I thought, maybe I was wrong … I remember Seve [Ballesteros] He was sick and we had it in one of those conference things in the past. He is talking to the team, and we are all in the team’s room. This is Wednesday or Thursday night. And I look around and most of the team is crying while Seve speaks to us.

European Ryder Cup player not impressed with Trump’s assistance: “Only another spectator”
“And I say, that’s all. That is the incarnation of what the European Cup team is. I think that was the time, that telephone conference with Seve in 2010, was the time for me.”
Ballesteros played a key role in what is the Ryder Cup today. The tournament had been initially between the United States and Britain/Ireland, but expanded to include all of Europe in 1979, causing ballesteros and other golf legends to be eligible.
Ballesteros died less than a year after the Ryder Cup 2010, and Europe retained the Cup with a dramatic return of Sunday in 2012 in Medinah, the first since the death of Spanish.

Ah, and those pink purple shirts that Europeans had during that return? They returned on Thursday.
“It’s nice,” Mcilroy said. “It’s nice.”
