Rory Mcilroy shares the message to the daughter after the teachers win

Rory Mcilroy admitted in his interview after the round with journalists who fall on his knees after seeing that his playoff Birdie Putt sink to win the 89th Masters tournament was pure relief.

“That was all relief, there was not much joy in that reaction,” he said when a journalist asked what emotions he was feeling when he defeated Justin Rose in the first playoff of Masters since 2017. “It was a relief. Then, the joy came shortly after. I have been coming here 17 years, and it was a good decade of emotion that came out of me there.”

Mcilroy waited 11 years to break her old -winning drought, but, more importantly, she recorded her name along with the five great golf that collected the Grand Slam of her career with each important victory in her curriculum.

Mcilroy has heard it from people like Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods, all of whom have the Grand Slam, for years. They believed that he would win at the Augusta National Golf Club one day, and after approaching so much in the past, Mcilroy admitted to feeling a bit skeptical about the adjusted green jacket for himself.

However, while standing on the podium, the green jacket was already on the back by the 2024 champion Scottie Scheffler, looked at his daughter, Poppy, and delivered a pretty sincere message after living it on Sunday.

“On my left, my family, my team,” Mcilroy said while containing some tears. “They have been on this trip with my whole. They know the burden I have led to come here every year and try to try and try again.

“The only thing I would tell my daughter, Poppy, who is sitting there: you never give up your dreams. Never, never, you give up your dreams. Keep returning, keep working hard, and if you put your mind, you can do anything. I love you.”

Mcilroy entered his 17th appearance of the Masters with the same weight on his shoulders of not having won a specialty from the 2014 open championship, and published consecutive rounds of 66 on Fridays and Saturdays to enter Sunday with a two -stroke advantage over Bryson Denhambeau.

Dechambeau was only one of the golfers who has raised a specialty during the 11 -year -old drought that Mcilroy has had to endure, reaching the Open of US 2024 in what was a brutal crisis for the latter.

“The United States Open last year was simply horrible,” Mcilroy said when asked the low point of his great drought, while added the defeat of the 2022 open championship to Cam Smith in St. Andrews.

“The losses are difficult, and again, so proud of myself that I continue to return and put myself in these positions to win championships.”

It was an emotional and physical roller coaster for Mcilroy, which did not make it easy for itself during the round. It was up and down, and just when it seemed that I had total control in the second nine, he hesitated in the 13th with an approach that landed in the water.

From there, Mcilroy would recover his advantage in T -shirt 18, needing only torque to let all the weight on his shoulder. However, the short Putt Par was lost, which led to a sudden death playoff with Rose, who was also looking for his first green jacket in 20 appearances in the Masters.

However, Mcilroy never lost the faith, and said that his long -standing caddie, Harry Diamond, helped him in the golf cart of return to the 18th Tee Box.

“After scoring, Harry and I were walking to the golf cart to bring us back. He said: ‘Well, friend, we would have taken this on Monday morning.’ We would absolutely have done it. That he reformulated it.”

Mcilroy hit the same exact blow he made in his 72nd hole in the tournament, and his approach was much better this time, tilting towards a two -foot Birdie.

After the lady of Rose, Mcilroy had the opportunity to turn dreams into reality, and did not waste this time.

As expected, Mcilroy could not contain his emotions, and tears continued to flow while hugging his wife and daughter, as well as many others in his team, while heading to Butler Cabin.

11 years have passed, full of evidence and tribulations. Although Mcilroy said he was still playing a fantastic golf along the way, he knew he would always have something to demonstrate if he did not capture that green jacket.

Mcilroy has nothing more to demonstrate now.
