RS600M unearthed corruption in the DASU project


Islamabad:

The Senate Economic Affairs Committee detected on Thursday the mega corruption in the DASU Hydroelectric Transmission Line project, asking for an exhaustive investigation by the relevant authorities, including the Federal Research Agency (FIA) and the National Responsibility Office (NAB).

The committee that met with its president Senator Saifullah Abro in the President was informed that the project contract was granted on the basis of a letter from the Engineering Development Board (EDB) in 2015, while National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK) presented wrong figures.

The president expressed angry at the alleged corruption in the project, amounted to RS600 million. “How could the project be given to a company based on a letter?” The question posed. “It is the responsibility of all institutions to investigate it.”

The committee that Nespak presented wrong figures during the bidder’s scrutiny, and Nespak’s managing director confessed the wrong figures, was informed. The Committee directed the action against the wrong figures presented by Nespak officials.

“The negligence of the power division [in this issue] It must be investigated. This issue must be investigated by NAB and FIA, “he said to the committee.” The officials who gave incorrect figures should be finished, “he added.
