- A youtuber has been describing some convincing theories in the performance of RX 9070 versus the RTX 5070
- This theorization is based on alleged internal AMD points for RX 9070 and napkins mathematics for the RTX 5070 frame speeds
- If it follows, RX 9070 XT could easily overcome RTX 5070 TI, and even reach 10% of RTX 5080
AMD RX 9070 models could easily overcome RTX 5070 TI and 5070 NVIDIA graphics cards, if a prediction considered a YouTuber tray.
This is Peddler Moore’s law on regular rumors, it is dead (MLID), who in his latest video (embedded below) is involved in some napkin mathematics to solve where the performance of the RTX 5070 and 5070 ti ti Weigh (more about the complexities shortly). The youtuber then compares that with the internal reference points supposedly carried out by AMD a month ago with its RX 9070 models.
The result is this: follow those internal AMD tests: add skepticism with all this, which means the reference points, and also the theories of MLID – Team Red was pointing to a slight victory for RX 9070 XX over the edition of founders RTX 4080 (to the edition (for a melody of 3% or so).
Mlid then took that estimated level of performance and exceeded it in a reference points graph (an average of 17 games) of the hardware without a box that includes the RTX 5080. Of this, we see that in theory, the RX 9070 XT is within the 10% of the RTX 5080 for razorized yield (non -ray tracking) to resolution 4K.
In addition to that, the youtuber added in the math approximations mentioned in the RTX 5070 performance, which is that the Vanilla RTX 5070 is likely to reach approximately 20% faster than the NVIDIA RTX 4070 (in the baseball stadium of RTX 4070 ti). And that it is likely that the RTX 5070 TI is a rather lower generational elevation, and perhaps only a little faster than the RTX 4070 Ti Super.
Okay, that adds into a good amount of uncertainty, and IFS-BUTS, although it is based on sufficient reasoning. (Namely, the uprisings we have seen for RTX 5090 and 5080, on average, a strong taste of architectural gains for Blackwell, in other words, and then the relative specifications of the new RTX 5070 models versus their predecessors).
The RTX 5070 yield may not work that way, but if you do approximately, MLID theorizes that RX 9070 XT (based on those internal reference points of AMD) could be potentially 15% faster than RTX 5070 TI. And that RX 9070 versus the RTX 5070 could also see a victory for AMD, more for a sum of 10%, but still a marked victory.

Analysis: performance means little without price
Correct, then AMD will own the middle range of GPU this year? Well, as I said a couple of times, but it has another mention only to underline, much of this is in the air theorization, although they work that make sense to me. MLID puts some heavy warnings in all this himself, although Youtuber states that he has enough confidence in these predictions in general.
We must bear in mind that the graphics used (from the hardware without a picture) are simply a direct raking performance. Although MLID also points out that he is that AMD has almost reached Nvidia with ray tracking in this generation, but another important piece of puzzle is DLSS 4 and the new generation of teams from Team Green. The last MFG feature and other improvements in DLSS 4 are actually huge, and that should not be underestimated. We still don’t know how FSR 4, AMD next generation rival technology will be shaken, so it is still a quite heavy question sign here.
Another critical point here is that everything is very well analyzing the levels of relative performance (potential) in a theoretical exercise like this, but even if this is correct in terms of comparative table speeds that we will obtain from the RX 9070 versus RTX 5070 models , there is AMD’s price to consider. We know the approximate value proposal of the RTX 5070 flavors, since we have the MSRP, but we do not do it with the RDNA 4 graphics cards.
My concern, then, is that AMD will calculate where to launch RX 9070 asking prices based on NVIDIA RTX 5070 reviews when they arrive in February (well, if Team Green adheres to its promised launch period for these average range graphics cards) . Certainly it is rumored that AMD is still wearing prices a lot, and the question becomes: How much does the network team want Nvidia in the middle range space?
If that is a strong reason here, AMD could enter with MSRP really competitive for RX 9070 models. But, if maximizing the profits and the return is higher in the priority list for RDNA 4, then we could be heavier from What was rumored sales prices.
Who knows, is really the point, and RX 9070 will only be a murderer RTX 5070, assuming that the MLID napkin and the GPU hypothesis are in the right stadium, if AMD requires it is a murderer RTX 5070. Hopefully this is the intention, and MLID suggests $ 499 and $ 649 (USA) as possible price labels for properly aggressive movement with RX 9070 and his brother XT respectively.
Previously, there was hope of a price of less than $ 500 for RX 9070, but if the yield shapes something as suggested here, there is no reason for AMD to immerse itself lower than the $ 499 mentioned. And again, this returns to my concern that AMD feels free to boost the strongest prices of what originally planned, perhaps, if the RX 9070 models are surpassing the RTX 5070 in this vein.
