Ryan Gosling debuts the first look at the ‘Hail Mary’ project

Rayan Gosling debuted several clips from the next science fiction movie Hail Mary project In San Diego Comic-Con.

In the film, Gosling plays Ryland Grace, a high school teacher who wakes up aboard a spacecraft without memory, just to discover that he is on a mission to save humanity.

The first minutes of the film showed Gosling’s character waking up in a spacecraft, interacting with robots.

Then finally start screaming: “Where am I?” While looking towards space.

The scene laughs at the crowd, when Gosling joked about his “placenta mono” attire.

Insumulating a smile, he added: “I hope to see the comic-with attendees who use this next year.”

A second scene presented Gosling and co -star Sandra Hüller, whose character urges him to experiment in an alien cell.

When Grace asks nervously: “Am I expendable? Is that why you love me?” Hüller responds dryly: “That is not the only reason”, which causes more laughs of the audience.

The film also leans in the drama, particularly when the character of Gosling struggles with zero gravity and a dawn realization about his mission. “I connected with his reluctance,” Gosling shared. “He is a quite common person.”

According to him Hollywood Reporter, Directors Lord and Miller, known for their comic skills, emphasized that the film balances humor and heart.

“Things are more fun if it comes from a real emotion,” said Miller, while screenwriter Goddard added: “Our lives are dramatic and comic every day.”

The author Andy Weir praised Gosling’s performance, saying: “See Ryan to give so many layers to this character that I invented, I thought: ‘Wow, this character is really great.”

Lord summarized the deepest message of the film with a laugh: “Answer the question: ‘If the universe depends on it, can adult men make friends?'”

Hail Mary projectAlso starring Milana Vayntrub, it is directed by Lord and Miller and adapts the acclaimed novel of the same name of Weir. It opens in theaters on March 20, 2026.
