“You are entering the best chapter of your life, you just have to heal first,” said the first slide. “Sometimes God allows betrayal … because he leads to advance.

“Most people have no idea what I endured. I ignore their opinions. The truth is always revealed,” said another slide.

“Divorce is not the end of my story. It is the beginning of my rebirth,” he concluded.

Reid and Lochte revealed earlier this month that they divorced after seven years of marriage. TMZ reported that Reid requested divorce earlier this year, a decision that emerged “after a deep prayer and reflection,” he said.

“I maintain the marriage of the highest consideration, so it has been one of the most painful, revealing and challenging seasons of my life. I have doubted to share until I can do it from a place of healing, not fresh and open wounds,” Reid on Instagram wrote at that time.

“Sometimes we face evidence that we do not choose or see coming. And at that time, we are forced to make the most difficult decisions to protect our peace, our children and our future. I have come to understand that staying is not always the most loving decision that someone can take. For me, to leave it was an act of love, for those around me and for me.”

Lochte then went to Instagram, saying that the decision “has not been easy.”

“I want to take a moment to recognize what Kayla shared. Last year he has brought important changes for both of us, since we have made the difficult decision to finish our marriage. I am deeply grateful for the life we have built and especially for the love we share for our three children,” he wrote on social networks.

“Although this decision has not been easy, I think it is the right step towards the peace and well -being of the two. I remain committed to healing, growth and paternity with care and respect as we advance. Thanks to our family and friends for their continuous support, it really means a lot as we begin this new chapter.”

The couple promised in 2016, the same year that Lockte was involved in a controversial incident in a service station during the Rio Olympic Games. Initially, Lockte said that he and his teammates were stolen at gunpoint, but it was determined that those with weapons were actually security guards at a service station where swimmers had urinated out of a bathroom. Lochte finally lost four important sponsorships, and Use Swimming suspended it for 10 months.
