Sabrina Carpenter is helping usher in the return of The Muppet ShowAnd he does it with a lot of charm alongside one of the most beloved divas on television, Miss Piggy.
The pop star appears in the first teaser for the upcoming special, which debuted during Dick Clark’s rocking New Year’s Eve with Ryan Seacrest, instantly setting the tone for a fun, star-studded revival.
In the trailer, Carpenter is all for participating in the Muppets’ signature mayhem, sharing the screen and even matching outfits with Miss Piggy.
A highlight shows the Espresso singer praises Miss Piggy as an icon, a compliment the Muppet legend accepts with style.
“You’re too sweet. Go on,” Miss Piggy responds, perfectly in character. The exchange highlights the easy chemistry between the two and gives fans a taste of the humor that special promises must fulfill.
Carpenter’s appearance also seems like a fun continuation of her recent onstage interaction with Miss Piggy during the final stop of her short and sweet Tour in Los Angeles.
At that show, Carpenter jokingly “arrested” Miss Piggy before performing. Juno.
Addressing the crowd, he said: “You guys are so beautiful it should be a crime,” before looking at Miss Piggy and Bobo the Bear and adding: “Just like you, beautiful. I’d know that face anywhere!”
When asked if she was enjoying the concert, Miss Piggy joked: “I love it! I mean, I have some notes. I’ll share them with you after the show.”
Then Bobo the Bear intervened with feigned authority and said: “Come on, Pig… Tell it to the judge, sister.”
The teaser also features Seth Rogen, who seems genuinely excited to be part of the Muppet universe.
In a brief exchange with Fozzie Bear, Rogen admits, “It’s always been a dream of mine to be here,” prompting Fozzie’s classic response.
With familiar faces, lighthearted humor, and famous guests clearly enjoying the moment, The Muppet Show aims to combine nostalgia with fresh energy.
The special will premiere on ABC and Disney+ on Wednesday, February 4, giving fans new and old another reason to celebrate the timeless appeal of the Muppets.
