
England’s Wicktkeeper, Sam Billings, has expanded praise to the main batter of Pakistan, Babar Azam, who has been signed by the Sydney Sixers for the next 15th season of Big Bash League (BBL).
In a recent interview, Billings praised Babar as a “King” recognizing his stature in the World Cricket and expressed enthusiasm for the possibility of seeing the prolific right in the tournament.
“He is King Babar Azam, as they call him. He has been a world -class artist for so long. Any competition with a player like Babar Azam benefits not only the Sixers, as you said, but the tournament as a whole,” said Billings.
“I have played a lot against him, and I would prefer to have him on my side than against me. I am definitely looking forward to those Sydney derbies,” he added.
The 34 -year -old Cricket player has been a usual feature in the Super League of Pakistan (PSL) since 2022, representing Lahore Qalandars. He also praised the depth of talent in the Pakistan cryket.
“I have played a lot of Psl Cricket. The talent they have, the group of talents, is out of the lists,” he said.
Babar’s firm has already created a buzz in the world of Cricket. The former captain of England, Michael Vaughan, also reacted to the news with a brief but shocking publication in X (previously Twitter), calling Babar signing a “great signature.”
It is pertinent to mention that the Sydney Sixers officially announced Babar’s firm on Friday, marking one of the most high profile acquisitions in the history of BBL.
The 30 -year -old batter, who has obtained more than 10,000 international races between formats, is widely considered one of the most consistent and prolific artists of the worldwide cryket.
According to BBL regulations, each team can sign an international player before the official BBL 15 draft, scheduled for Thursday, June 19. The Sixers capitalized this opportunity to ensure the services of the teacher of Pakistan.
A key figure in the National Team of Pakistan for more than a decade, Babar captained the team in the three formats from 2019 to 2024. Under its leadership, Pakistan reached the semifinals of the World Cup T20 ICC 2021 and ended as a runner -up in the 2022 edition.
Sharing his emotion in a video message posted by the franchise, the former employer expressed his enthusiasm to join the Sixers and play with the great Australians.
“Hello guys, super bombed to join the Sydney Sixers. I can’t wait to share the costumes with my favorite batter, Steve Smith, and world -class bowling player, Josh Hazlewood,” Babar said.
“I have always loved to play in Australia, but making my debut in BBL will be something special. So I’m really excited and I hope to get there and meet my crazy Crick fans,” he added.
