- Samsung rolling out One UI 8.5 beta to Galaxy S23 series and other phones
- These include the Galaxy A36, which is the first A series model to gain access.
- Latest beta also adds AirDrop support for select phones
So far, One UI 8.5 is only available in finished form on the Samsung Galaxy S26 series, but a beta version started rolling out to other Samsung phones a while ago. Now, more phones have access to it.
Samsung has announced that its One UI 8.5 beta is rolling out to the Galaxy S23 series, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy S23 FE, and Samsung Galaxy A36. The last of these is especially notable, as it is the first A-series phone to gain access.
Beta access will be available in the US, UK, India, and South Korea, but it’s a gradual rollout, meaning even if you have one of those phones, you may not have access yet.

However, it should be worth the wait as it comes with numerous new and improved features, such as improvements to Photo Assist and Quick Share, although not all updates will necessarily be available for all phones.
Add AirDrop support
And even if you have a phone that already had access to the beta, there are new benefits for you in this version, as it also introduces support for AirDrop through Quick Share, so you can share files more easily between Samsung phones and iPhones.
That feature is now available with One UI 8.5 beta on the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy S24 series, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6.
Samsung has said that additional devices will have access to the beta later this month, and according to leaker Tarun Vats, the One UI 8.5 stable build could be released for the Samsung Galaxy S25 series on April 30, so hopefully there won’t be long to wait either.
If you want to sign up for the beta, you can sign up through the Samsung Members app, but keep in mind that this build may not be completely stable, so you’d better wait for the final version.
