Folding phones can promise a pocket tablet experience, but there is an uninterrupted difference between the large internal screen of a folding and an adequate board: the fold. It is a distraction, but Samsung Display could have solved it with a design that we could see adopted by the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
In the middle of the interior screen of a folding phone, along the hinge where it folds, it is a fold that you can see and feel in all existing consumption models. Now, in MWC 2025 Samsung Display (the arm that works on the TV and telephone screen panels, and is a different entity for Samsung Electronics, which actually makes televisions, phones and other gadgets) has shown a folding without water.
Some designs have taken steps in the right direction before. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 has a significantly less remarkable fold than the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold, and in some lights it cannot be seen at all, and others that have followed, such as the Oppo Find N5, made the fold even less distracting. But no phone eliminated the fold so far.
The images of the new Samsung Display folding screen (through Android Central) do not show a visible fold from multiple visualization angles, with the improvements highlighted by the Samsung Galaxy Z fold 6 of Samsung Z on display next to the new technology in the Samsung stand.
This design is generating a lot of emotion throughout the folding fans, especially in the light of some additional details that I want to discuss below, but it is worth noting that, although Samsung Display and Electronics can be close collaborators, they are different and, although the screen without growing is ready to see the daylight, it may not have been ready when the Z FOLD 7 (which is designed in July is designed in July) is designed.
Therefore, there is the possibility that this new screen is delayed to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 of the following year, and potentially even longer depending on the manufacturing challenges we do not know, or the cost of the screen. We will not know until the launch of the Z Fold 7 at the end of this year, but beyond the lack of fold, there are some other design details that mean that I have all my crossed fingers so that this screen debuts in the folding 2025 of Samsung.
More than a screen without crossings
The first is a change of selfie camera for the interior screen. Currently, the Galaxy Z Fold Line uses an Snapper Under Display, but the new technology shows us a classic hoop drilling design. The low show chamber can be better combined when an image is a full screen, but it is never completely invisible and suffers a severe quality drop compared to typical selfie cameras.
The Google Pixel 9 Pro fold has a punch and, frankly, I prefer this design, so I am excited to see a galaxy z fold 7 (or 8) with a perforator.
The other change is that the telephone without create seems to be a bigger screen than the Z Fold 6, with two halves that look more like a standard phone form. A larger internal screen is never a bad thing, but it means that we will also get a larger exterior screen. The external screen in the Z FOLD 6 feels narrow, and its odd appearance ratio can cause problems with some applications, unlike Google Pixel 9 Pro fold and others that offer a more standard external screen.
This new design without create is ready to put the next Samsung devices in line with its rivals in size.
It is worth noting that it could be the style that Samsung Display is demonstrating, and Samsung Electronics could make its folding screen without growing be more closely than coincides with the existing shape and design of its existing folding ones, but I hope this indicates a great shake for the galaxy z fold 7, 8 or any samsung folding, it is a very necessary update in all the borders.
