- Samsung Ballie Ai Robot will launch this summer in the United States and Korea
- Now he will have Gemini thanks to an association between Samsung and Google Cloud
- Samsung says it will make Ballie more useful and allow natural conversations.
Samsung finally spilled beans in Ballie, his robot partner with brilliant yellow infusion, in the consumer 2025 electronics show, and now only four months later, we are learning more about the next set of products of products.
In association with Google Cloud, Samsung announced that like the deep integration of Google Gemini into the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S25 series, the two technological giants are taking the assistant to the Ballie. Ballie will feature Gemini and another generative technology from Google Cloud and Samsung’s language models.
We already know that Samsung Ballie is voice activated with four distant field microphones on board. In CES 2025, I saw a demonstration of someone who said “Hi Ballie”, to control intelligent domestic devices and spill information about places in Las Vegas.
Now, however, Samsung and Google Cloud aim to make Ballie interaction even more natural and for the Companion robot to be even more useful. In a shared launch, he mocked that the robot can be said: “I feel tired today”, and make it serve ways to improve energy levels or if you have other portable devices connected to Samsung to suggest monitoring sleep patterns. Quite and clearly the promise of weaving Samsung technology with Gemini.
You can also work with Ballie to develop your personal style and ask the robot how it looks. Ballie will use her cameras on board to provide style recommendations. Here it is likely to be a technology similar to Gemini Live crossed with Google Lens for a multimodal experience to see what styles they could match whatever you are using.
As a reminder, Samsung’s Ballie has a ton of built -in technology, which includes a front HD triple projector that can launch on nearby and distant surfaces, a 4K camera in the front, a 2K camera on the back, a pile of lidar sensors, the flight time (Tof) sensor, the speakers and the microphones as mentioned above.
Of course, he also has wheels to move around his home and even follow him. When the battery on board is exhausted, it can return to its load spring, very similar to a robot vacuum cleaner.
Ballie should reach the United States and Korea this summer
In addition, Samsung reaffirms once again, and is again the promised launch of later in 2025. Fortunately, it is becoming more specific, confirming that Ballie will be launched in the United States and Korea this summer. It is for a completely unknown price, but Samsung has established a page to register its information that, curiously, requests the city and the State. That leads me to think that Ballie could be implemented in a test for specific states, potentially linked to Samsung Smartthings cities, or simply that supplies will be limited to the beginning.
Anyway, I am still anxious to see Ballie formally launch and put it to the test. And for those who follow up, Samsung’s News Today is a very fast tracking of the appearance of the robot in CES. Ballie was announced for the first time in 2020, returned in 2024 with the promise of launching that same year, and then showed again in January 2025 with a promise launch at the end of this year.
Taking into account that this is the most Samsung told us about Ballie, I am leading more faith and the company shows more evidence that Ballie will really arrive, and I can’t wait. You can register to mark your interest in Ballie on the Samsung site here.
Of course, stay with Techradar to get the latest in Ballie, and you can read our first look at the Robot of CES 2025 and our conversation with Samsung’s product manager, entertainment at home, Lydia Cho here. Remember, she said: “We simply believe she is the perfect partner to meet all her needs,” and Gemini could help him.
Personally, I think it is now the second most beautiful robot compared to Disney BDX Droids. Those are the clear winners.
