- Samsung Smart Monitor M9 fuses OLED clarity and AI intelligence in an elegant hybrid work space device
- With Pantone certification and OLED QD technology, the M9 is built for critical creative work
- Samsung M9 gives everything to give, but that price of $ 1,599 feels too ambitious
Samsung has presented the Smart Monitor M9, which adds OLED QD technology and artificial intelligence to the company’s monitor line for the first time.
With its 32 -inch 4K panel, the M9 combinations work, games and entertainment in a single device, with the aim of serving as a productivity tool and a media center.
But at $ 1,599, it raises the question of how much users should really pay for a monitor, even such a rich in features.
A hybrid screen to work and play
Samsung’s OLED M9 panel is combined with characteristics such as coating without glare for a better visibility in bright rooms and OLED Siguard+, a thermal management system to reduce the burned over time.
The screen is validated Pantone, which means that it can replicate more than 2,100 colors and 110 indicators, a visual precision brand that creative professionals can appreciate.
On paper, the specifications are impressive. AI Picture Optimizer, 4K AI Upscaling Pro and Active Voice Amplifier Pro promise to adjust the images and the audio in real time depending on the content and surroundings.
The monitor also includes an 165Hz update rate, a response time of 0.03 ms and compatibility with NVIDIA G-SYNC, which offers a certain credibility of the game without the need for a dedicated console or PC, thanks to the Samsung Games Center and built-in transmission applications.
However, it is worth questioning whether this justifies the sale price: comparable smart monitors, such as 32Lq6300 of LG or even the Samsung M8 Smart anterior monitor, offers 4K panels with intelligent features by hundreds less.
For many users looking for the best commercial monitor or the best monitor for Mac Mini, IA improvements and integrated entertainment platform can simply be unnecessary.
Similarly, those who want the best monitor for Macbook Pro can already trust Apple’s own screen ecosystem, which makes characteristics such as Microsoft 365 Integration and Tizen redundant.
The M9 clearly pushes the technical limits, but its price positions it closer to a luxury article than a daily practical monitor.
