San Diego Padres launcher, Cole Poplham, was at the receiving end of a 102 MPH trip on the head on Sunday in a spring training game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The incident occurred at the bottom of the eighth entrance. Poplham launched the Dodgers Aaron Bracho painting player in a 2-0 count. Bracho returned the field directly to Poplham. He went down for several minutes before walking to a golf cart and left the field.

Parent manager Mike Shildt said Poplham “seemed alert” while trying to shake the terrifying incident.
“Our prayers are with him,” said Shildt, through MLB.com. “I was aware, it seemed alert, I knew where I was. But clearly something terrifying … I clearly had some pain, and obviously when something like that happens, a little stunned.”
Poplham has been in the parents of the parents of the parents since 2023. He played a university ball at the University of New Orleans and then participated in the MLB Draft League for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers.

He has moved from the levels of leagues under single a. It had an effectiveness of 3.82 and 11 strikeouts in eight appearances in 2024.
The Poplham incident occurred days after the Dodgers pitcher, Bobby Miller, was beaten in the face by a line impulse.

Miller is still in the brain shock protocol when recovering from the incident.
