Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah has urged the PML-N and the PPP to put aside their differences and "advance" of the Sindh-Punjab row. Speaking on a private news channel, the senior PML-N leader said: "Today’s political leaders should come to the table and resolve their political issues, and by resolving them, they should create a path forward.". He added that "there will be no interference from that side," apparently referring to the establishment, and maintained that the quarter instead "provide help" if politicians resolved their disputes. Asked if the tensions were related to speculation that Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir would take over as president, Sanaullah dismissed the rumours, saying the matter had already been debunked by "the relevant quarters". He clarified that the head of the army "he has no personal agenda and this talk is completely wrong that he has any [other] intention or agenda". The advisor added that the army chief "go home" upon retirement and "He has absolutely no intention of coming to the Prime Minister’s House or the President’s House.". Sanaullah noted that the army chief himself had rejected such speculations, considering them lies spread by elements "conspiring against the ruling system".
