The former Duke of York has finally packed up and moved, but his change of address does nothing to quiet the noise around him.
After months of whispers, he left Royal Lodge and took up residence at Wood Farm Cottage on the Sandringham Estate, where he will remain until nearby Marsh Farm is ready.
However, the relocation has not been welcomed by everyone in the area.
Visitors and locals alike were quick to express their disbelief at the deal, questioning why the king’s troublesome brother was staying on royal property.
One elderly visitor wondered how someone described as an outcast can really be so when they are still being given a roof over their heads within the palace grounds.
Another scoffed that the move hardly seems like a step down, but rather sounds more like a return to comfort than a retreat.
Others are more bothered by the sudden attention placed on their normally quiet surroundings.
One resident complained that the influx of cameras and journalists had disturbed the calm of the town.
Although Wood Farm Cottage lacks the grandeur of Andrew’s old house, it is not a basic retreat.
The property has reportedly received major security upgrades, including the installation of an imposing six-foot fence to replace the original chain link barrier.
