Sanitation workers obtain cash rewards

Rawalpindi:

A special ceremony in Rawalpindi was organized to honor the sanitation workers of the Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) for their performance during Eidul Azha under the “Sushra Punjab” campaign.

According to a statement, in the event, 1,000 sanitation workers received control of RS10,000 along with a meal, in a gesture of solidarity of the government.

Special Secretary of the Punjab Local Government, Asia Gul; Mnas Tahira Aurengzeb and Raja Qamarul Islam; former mayor Sardar Naseem Khan; Hasan Waqar Cheema Commissioner; and the CEO of RWMC, Rana Sajid Safdar, were present to distribute the checks.

The president of the Municipal Labor Union, Raja Haroon, President Changez Bhatti, Khan Majeed, Bilal Khawar, Bilal Niazi, Amir Naik, Hassan Sardar, Nasir Mahmood and others also attended.

The special secretary Asia Gul described sanitation workers as the “true heroes of Punjab”, emphasizing the government’s commitment to recognize their service. MNA Tahira Aurengzeb said that no system can work without sanitation workers and promised government efforts to solve their problems and ensure permanent employment for them.
