Sarah Jessica Parker opened how her mother implanted the love for reading in her heart.
In a recent Chat event in 92ny with author Victoria Redel and editor Adam Moss in Kaye Playhouse in New York City, the 60 -year -old actress shared how she adopted a love for her mother’s books, Barbra Forste.
He And just like that … The actress revealed that her mother was a passionate reader and used to get books in signs and stops.
“She read everything, from the moment she was a girl,” Parker recalled. “He went to a very good high school in Cincinnati, Ohio, and somehow spoke to librarians in the library of his public school, as well as in our community library, to hold on to the New York and the Sunday Times for her.”
Parker looked back in his childhood and shared that he never owned a book for children, but used to obtain from a local library.
“We were in our local public library all the time. That is our only way of having books. We did not buy books, we did not possess books for our age. My parents possessed books … We read all the great classic books for children,” Parker shared.
He Hocus Pocus Star’s love for reading took her to the publication impression itself, SJP Lit, launched in 2022.
“We try to find books that we really are excited, which really surprise us immediately,” Parker added. “We hope we have the opportunity to publish them and present a writer to the readers or present a writer who debuts as a writer … Every time a writer says yes, it is a big problem for us.”
