Pakistan sent 727,381 workers qualified to countries in the Middle East and Europe in 2024, a record figure aimed at reducing unemployment and increasing remittances, state media reported Thursday.

According to him Associated Press of Pakistan (Application), most workers were employed in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Oman, while a significant number also secured jobs in European nations.

The Ministry of Pakistani abroad and human resources development proved the achievement of “aggressive marketing strategies, improved facilitation and strengthened ties with international employers.”

“This historical achievement is a brilliant testimony of government unwavering commitment to provide Pakistani workers for lucrative employment opportunities abroad,” said the application report.

Pakistan’s workforce plays a crucial role in supporting the economy, with remittances that serve as a vital currency source in the midst of ongoing macroeconomic challenges. The increase in employment is expected to positively impact economic stability by increasing foreign tickets.

In January, Pakistanis Minister abroad, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, emphasized the government’s approach in the expansion of opportunities in Saudi Arabia while guaranteeing a better qualified workforce to improve competitiveness in the Middle East labor market.

Pakistan annually sends around one million qualified workers abroad, contributing to reserves of economic growth and foreign exchange.
