- MSI will extend the panel updates on its OLED CARE 2.0 to 24 HOURS MONITORS IN PLACE OF 16 HOURS
- Will eliminate players game interruptions
- This will come into force as of May
The OLED monitors have gradually become a conventional option for many users (especially players) with advanced care technologies to help prevent image retention and burn. Fortunately, MSI is introducing a new measure to further improve the efficiency of this technology.
As indicated in a press release, MSI will expand its OLED Care 2.0 to 24 hours timer to avoid panel protection (pixels) automatically activation to stop burn (retention of permanent images). Previously, this would happen every 16 hours, which would interrupt the activities, but now, users will have more flexibility with this function without many disturbances.
It makes a long way to show how advanced MSI’s OLED care is, as most other monitors advise users who begin to update Pixel at least every 4 or 6 hours: with my alienware AW3423DWF QD Ultrawide, the indications will be presented every 6 hours, and although it can always establish this not to appear at all, it is also easy to forget to activate.
Measures such as this could be beneficial for MSI and other OLED screens: one of the main reasons why most PC users do not make the transition to OLED from a regular LED monitor (in addition to its expensive nature), is the fear of the possible burn, but that is quickly becoming a problem.
OLED monitors finally receive the attention they deserve, and I love it
There is still a long way for OLED monitors to continue in terms of prices and improvements for work -related activities, since most OLED users complain about the text strip when they work from home, but it is great to see that companies are making additional efforts to be more accessible.
Samsung has already announced that it will introduce cheaper OLED monitors to help accelerate the regular LED transition, which could encourage players to make the change. I have said this before, but OLED is literally the best type of screen that I have had the pleasure of using, with deeper black levels thanks to an infinite contrast relationship, which finally provides great image precision.
Technologies updates such as OLED CARE 2.0 are examples of what will only help the type of screen to become the mainstream. We are also seeing more frequent discounts for people like Odyssey G6 QD-OED of Samsung, which currently has a 31% discount on Amazon.
It’s just a matter of time before LED stays behind for a large majority, and I can’t wait until that day comes.
