The State Bank of Pakistan has announced a holiday on May 28, 2025 to observe Yom-E-Takbeer, marking the day Pakistan became a nuclear energy in 1998.
According to the state bank notification, after the decision of the Pakistan government, all offices and branches will remain closed on Wednesday, May 28, observance of national holidays.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has also announced that it will remain closed in holiday observance.
May 28 is officially recognized as a vacation throughout the country to celebrate the achievement of 1998 that saw Pakistan emerged as the first Muslim majority country to acquire nuclear capabilities, marking a crucial moment in its history.
