ISLAMABAD:
The Supreme Court has set to hear a review petition filed by PTI founding president Imran Khan against the termination of his right of defense in a Rs 10 billion defamation suit filed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
A three-member bench headed by Justice Ayesha Malik will take up the matter on March 6 during the next judicial week. Justice Hashim Kakar and Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim will be part of the court.
During the previous hearing, the high court stayed the proceedings and notified the prime minister through his lawyer.
Earlier, both the Lahore High Court and the Supreme Court had upheld the decision to quash the right of defense of the PTI founder in the Rs 10,000 crore damages case.
The PTI founder has now filed a review petition challenging the decision to end his right of defence.
