In Parachinar, all educational institutions, both public and private, have been closed due to continuous road blockades.

The road closures have affected daily life, including the education sector. Heads of educational institutions have confirmed that schools will remain closed until the main road is reopened and secured.

MNA Hamid Hussain pointed out the far-reaching effects of the roadblocks and unrest, stating that even overseas Pakistanis’ holiday plans have been disrupted as their visas and tickets have been invalidated due to the unrest.

Deputy Commissioner Ramzan Simab mentioned that a final decision on restoring peace in the Great Jirga being held in Kohat is expected today.

This follows the tragic incident at the end of November, in which 38 people lost their lives after gunmen opened fire on passenger vehicles in the Ucht area of ​​Kurram district.

Yesterday, the Punjab Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, approved sending medicines, relief supplies and a mobile healthcare unit to Parachinar to support residents affected by the ongoing crises.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the people of Parachinar are an integral part of the nation and should not be left alone during difficulties.

During the meeting, Maryam Nawaz also shared the success of her recent visit to China, highlighting the country’s achievements and the respect for authority and harmony among its people, which she hopes Punjab will emulate. He also expressed hope for continued Chinese-inspired development in Punjab.

The meeting also addressed the situation in Kurram, where the advisor to the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister criticized the federal government’s response to the escalating crisis.

He also highlighted the lack of promised air ambulance services for the area. Meanwhile, the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government airlifted essential medicines worth Rs 12.4 million to Kurram and continues efforts to address the shortage of medical supplies in the region.

Also, Faisal Abdul Sattar Edhi, president of Edhi Foundation, reached Kurram with vital supplies after receiving approval from government officials.
