Islamabad:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced Monday that the scope of digital wallets would be expanded throughout the country, and the provinces are integrated into the digital payment system through a coordinated framework.
The prime minister, who is aimed at a ceremony to recognize people for their excellent performance in the success of the Ramazan aid package of the Prime Minister, said that modern payment methods allowed the transfer without funds of funds. These payments were made transparently, while maintaining the dignity of the deserving people.
He stressed that the funds were transferred efficiently and transparently through digital wallets, adding that 79% of the funds were digitally disbursed under the program.
The Prime Minister said that the former payment system had many defects, which were rectified by the modern system, said the prime minister’s office media wing in a statement.
In addition, he declared that the positive results had arisen from the steps taken to modernize the system and insinuated that the scope of digital wallets would be expanded throughout the country, and the provinces were also included in the digital payment system through an integrated framework.
Looking towards the future, the prime minister emphasized that next year, 100% of the funds would be used through digital methods.
During the ceremony, the secretary of the Benazir’s income support program, Amir Ahmed Ali, gave a detailed informative session on the aid package and digital wallets of Prime Minister Ramazan.
Separately, the prime minister said that the Pakistan government was still committed to strengthening frameworks that protect the rights and safety of workers.
In a message on the occasion of World Safety and Health Day at the work observed on April 28, he said: “Today, by marking World Safety and Health Day, Pakistan joins the international community to reaffirm our commitment to the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases, and to promote the well -being of all workers in all sectors.”
“This year’s theme, ‘Revolution of Health and Safety: the role of AI and Digitization at work’, invites us to reflect on the opportunities and responsibilities presented by technological progress,” he added.
The prime minister said: “As the workplaces worldwide, even in Pakistan, they adopt digital systems, it becomes imperative to ensure that these innovations serve to improve the safety, health and dignity of our workers.”
Meanwhile, the prime minister met with the director of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Saima Naureen and appreciated his high performance by supervising the modern training program in the field of agriculture for Pakistani students in China.
