Scottie Scheffler, the best golfer in the world, seemed to attract attention at the PGA championship on Thursday.
The normally desired and quiet golfer made an exception to the US PGA decision not to play, clean, clean, place for the first round of the PGA championship in the Soggy Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte.
The PGA of America is the governing body of the tournament, which is the second largest of the season.

On Wednesday, the organization issued a statement saying that “the ball would play, as it is.” The announcement occurred after the course was rolled with several inches of rain before the first round.
Several players were effectively forced to deal with what is often known as “mud balls”, which makes the trajectory of the blow balls less manageable.

Scheffler hit a shirt stroke in the middle of the street in hole number 16, and the shot hooked to the left and entered the water for a double flag.

“This will be the last answer I give when playing up or down,” Scheffler said. “I mean, I do not do the rules. I think that when you are looking at the purest forms of golf, as if you are going to play with golf links, there is absolutely no reason in a link golf course, you should play the ball. No matter how much rain they receive. The course could be flooded underwater, and the ball still comes out in some way due to the way the grass is and the ground under the mushroom.
“In the American golf, it is significantly different. When you have supervised streets that are not covered with sand, there will be a lot of mud in the ball, and that is only part of it. When you think of the purest test of the golf, I do not think I will hit the ball in the middle of the street that you should punish.”

Scheffler acknowledged that the position “a golf purist” would probably take, but the two -time Masters winner suggested that the decision of the rule created unforeseen conditions for competitors.
“In a golf course as good as this is, this is probably a situation in which it would be the least likely difference in playing it because most of the lies you get here are really good.
“I understand what a golf purist would be like, ‘Oh, he plays as he is.’
“In golf, there is enough luck during a 72 -hole tournament that I do not believe that the story should be if the ball is played or not. When I look at golf tournaments, I want the purest and most fair test of golf and, in my opinion, maybe the ball of today should have been played.
Scheffler recovered from the hard rest in Hole 16 and ended on Thursday 2 under par. Ryan Gerard was at the top of the classification on Thursday night. The PGA championship continues on Friday.
