A potential resolution could soon arrive in the long -standing demand between the United States Stock Exchange and Securities Commission (SEC) and Gemini on the Gant product of the cryptographic company.
The two submitted a joint application to the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York on Tuesday to consider a 60 -day pause in the case, since they consider a potential resolution.
Gemini was sued by the SEC in January 2023, together with the lender Genesis Global Capital, claiming that his GEMINI GANE product was an offer of unregistered values. In March 2024, Genesis finished a $ 21 million agreement with its role in the program, solving its side of the case.
Since President Donald Trump returned to office and appointed Mark Uyeda as interim president of the SEC, the regulator stopped or has fallen on a dozen compliance actions related to cryptography, citing a reevaluation of how securities laws are applied to digital assets.
