Dera Ghazi Khan:
A secretary of the Dera Court Ghazi Khan was sentenced to death and fined with RS600,000 after being convicted of murdering a junior lawyer within the district court facilities.
The Judge of the District and the sessions, Muhammad Abbas, announced the verdict on Monday, concluding a five -month trial in which the defendant, Rehmatullah, was convicted by the youth lawyer of Fatal Saddam Hussain and hurting another lawyer, Akhtar Hussain Lashari, during a violent incident on December 28, 2024.
The attack occurred within the district courts complex. Saddam Hussain, the brother of the lawyer Tajammul Shabbir, died on the scene.
The lawyer Akhtar Hussain suffered wounds in the assault.
Companions managed to dominate Rehmatullah on the spot and handed it over to the Civil Police Lines.
The case was registered based on a complaint filed by the victim’s uncle, lawyer Hafiz Ashiq Hussain.
Police completed their investigation and presented the charging sheet without delay. The trial was held under the supervision of Judge Abbas with the Prosecutor’s Office led by Shamshad Ahmed Qureshi.
After listening to the case, the court condemned Rehmatullah to death for murder and imposed a fine of RS500,000 in compensation to the victim’s family.
Due to the injury to the lawyer Akhtar Hussain, the convict received a five -year prison sentence and an additional RS100,000 in compensation.
Not paying the fine will result in six more months in prison.
After the verdict, Rehmatullah was transferred to the central prison.
